DeSoto Adventurer by Ghia (c1953)
designed by Virgil Exner Snr, the original Adventurer concept was styled to compete with the then new Chevrolet Corvette. However DeSoto’s management decided against producing the car and used the name for their flagship coupe instead.

I love how low budget marketing materials used to be for big companies.
“We just built an expensive, hand made concept car, how should we photograph it?”
“Cut out a flimsy cardboard sign and put some generic stick- on letters and tape it to the same curtains your elementary school used on the little stage in the cafeteria, oh, and do one parked in the driveway of a suburban rancher”.
“But, isn’t this supposed to be an aspirational product? Shouldnt we do something like at a yacht marina, or in front of a mansion?”
“Nah"
